April 11, 2023 – Thomas Worthington High School: Lyla Magnussen was brilliant in the circle on Tuesday, as she threw a no-hitter to lead the Irish past Thomas Worthington 15-1.
The Junior Varsity Irish opened up scoring in the first inning, when Madalyn Dean singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.
Dublin put up five runs in the third inning. Dean, Thaliyana Haley, and Mariam Sowe all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Magnussen earned the win for the Irish. The hurler only surrendered one run on zero hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out six.
West started the game for the Cardinals. The pitcher allowed ten hits and 15 runs over five innings, striking out four and walking ten. Abbi Clark had the keen eye in the game with 3 of those walks.
The Dublin JV team scattered ten hits in the game. Dean and Callie Akina all managed multiple hits for the Irish. Akina and Dean had two hits each to team. Scioto didn’t commit a single error in the field, for the second game in a row. Maria Wasko had the most chances in the field with six.
Both teams take to the field on Wednesday against a usually tough Delaware Hayes team. Come out and support them!
