March 25, 2024 – Dublin Scioto High School: Irish couldn’t keep up with Hilliard Davidson and fell 15-5 on Monday at the newly renovated field.
The Wildcats got on the board in the first inning after Erin O’Grady tripled, scoring three runs.
Davidson added one run in the second after Tayler Conner grounded out.
They scored five runs on three hits in the top of the sixth inning. An error scored two runs, Kendall Manos singled, scoring one run, and Molly Dennis tripled, scoring two.
Cam Haug earned the win for Hilliard Davidson. The starting pitcher gave up seven hits and five runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out two and walking one.
Lexie Richie took the loss for Dublin Scioto. The righty went six innings, surrendering 15 runs (eight earned) on 10 hits and walking twelve. But the mightly hurler had an impressive 11 strikeouts in the game!
Gigi Rodriguez, the number eight hitter for the Irish, led the way with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Matter, Maria Wasko, Gina Wasko, and Lyla Magnussen all had a hit in the game with Gina adding a walk, two runs scored, and an RBI to her stat sheet.
Hilliard had 10 hits in the game. Caitlin Aleshire and O’Grady each collected three hits for the Wildcats. O’Grady led Hilliard with four runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 3-for-3 on the day.
Dennis collected two hits for Davidson in four at bats. They had a strong eye at the plate, tallying 12 walks for the game. Haug, Lexi Hunter, Manos, and O’Grady led the team with two free passes each. Manos stole two bases. The Wildcats ran wild on the base paths, accumulating five stolen bases for the game.
