Jauregui’s Walk-off Gives Dublin Scioto Irish Victory Over Olentangy Braves!

It came down to the wire on Friday, with Scioto taking victory on a dramatic walk-off in the late innings that sealed their victory over Olentangy.

The game was tied at 10 with the Irish batting in the bottom of the 8th. An error scored one run for Scioto.

Dublin was boosted by Caroline Piatt who went 4-for-5 at the plate.  Piatt doubled in the first, doubled in the fifth, singled in the sixth, and singled in the seventh!

Olentangy opened up scoring in the second inning when a sacrifice bunt by Evelyn D scored one run for Olentangy.

Scioto knotted the game up at 10 in the bottom of the 7th, when Piatt singled on a 1-1 count, scoring 2 runs.

Olentangy scored four runs in the 4th inning.  Their batters contributed to the big inning (included Alex N, Jaelyn P, and Payton K, who all drove in runs.)

Taylor Henry was the winning pitcher for Scioto! Henry went eight innings, allowing 10 runs on 12 hits and striking out two.

Allie W had the loss for Olentangy. The pitcher surrendered 8 runs on 12 hits over six innings, striking out four.

Scioto socked 1 home run on the day. Sadie Jauregui went yard in the 2nd inning!

The Irish tallied 14 hits in the game.  Piatt, Alexis Richie, Henry, and Faith Kinzer each racked up multiple hits for Dublin Scioto.  Piatt went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead the Irish in hits.

Olentangy racked up 12 hits on the day.
