Second Inning Plays Key Role in Scioto Blowout Over Westerville South

April 20, 2022

This just in! Spring will last for about 4 days this year and will be coming at the end of May. The Irish played in winter-like temps last night! But they wouldn’t let that stop them.

A seven-run second inning led Scioto to an 8-1 victory over the Wildcats on Tuesday.

Dublin Scioto’s big inning was driven by singles by Caroline Piatt and Taylor Henry and a home run by Isabella Jauregui.

In the second inning, the Irish got their offense started.  Jauregui drove in 4 when she homered.

Henry toed the rubber for Dublin. She lasted 7 innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out nine and walking none.

K. Williams led things off in the circle for Westerville South. The pitcher lasted two innings, allowing four hits and seven runs while striking out two.  A. Paul and F. Hinat entered the game as relief, throwing three innings and two innings respectively.

Dublin Scioto launched one home run on the day — with Jauregui’s long ball in the second inning.

The Irish racked up 11 hits.  Jauregui, Nina Moffett, and Faith Kinzer each managed multiple hits for Dublin Scioto.  Jauregui went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Scioto in hits.
