Monday, April 10, 2023 – Dublin Scioto High School: The JV Irish asserted their will over Franklin Heights on their way to an easy 18-1 victory!
Franklin Heights got on the board in the first inning when S. Swinehart singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
But the Irish scored eight runs in the third inning. Kyleigh Marcum, Callie Akina, Madalyn Dean, Sophia Jackson, Nathaliya Haley, and Abbi Clark powered the big inning with RBIs.
Jackson took the win for Scioto. The ace went five innings, allowing one run on two hits, striking out nine and walking one.
C. Sally started the game for Franklin Heights. Sally allowed three hits and six runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out four. K. McKinney threw two and a third innings in relief.
The JV Irish collected 13 hits on the day. Fatma Abukar, Jackson, Clark, and Vicky Kurpita each collected multiple hits for Dublin. Abukar led Scioto with three hits in four at bats. And the JV team didn’t commit a single error in the field. Abukar had the most chances in the field with five.
They play Thomas Worthington tomorrow at their field!
