The Irish Drop 2nd Triad Game to Jerome After Late Score

May 6, 2023 – Dublin Scioto High School: Saturday’s second game of the Dublin Triad had the Irish battling the Celtic Warriors. The final game of the day was a heartbreaker for Scioto, as they lost the lead late in a 7-6 defeat.

The game was tied at six with the Celtics batting in the top of the seventh when Olivia Shon singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

A hot sun and a second game on a long day had the softball flying across the varsity field as Scioto collected eight hits and Jerome had ten in a high-scoring affair.

The Celtics got on the board in the first inning when Delaney Stoner’s sac fly scored one run for Jerome.

The Irish tallied four runs in the fourth inning.  Their offense in the inning was led by Kaitlyn Zimmerman and Hunter Fadorsen, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Jerome scored three runs in the fifth inning.  Their big bats were led by Stoner and Sidney McKinney, who each had RBIs.

Riley Schaner took the win for the Celtics. The fireballer allowed four hits and one run over three and a third innings, striking out two and walking zero.

Taylor Henry took the loss for Scioto. She completed the game, allowing ten hits and seven runs while striking out five and walking zero.

Ella Crawford started the game for Jerome. She allowed four hits and five runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two

The Irish saw the ball well on the day, racking up eight hits in the game.  Bella Jauregui, Zimmerman, and Fadorsen all managed multiple hits for the Irish. They each collected two hits to lead Scioto.

The Celtics had ten hits in the 2nd game of the day.  McKinney, Ellie Krenzel, and Izzy Damewood all had multiple hits for Jerome.  McKinney led the Celtics with four hits in four at bats.  Jerome had no errors in the field. McKinney had the most chances with six plays made.
