Offense Hard To Come By In Irish Loss to Liberty

Olentangy Liberty High School: Both teams faced off in a scrimmage game on a suprisingly warm March evening. They were strong in the circle on Tuesday, but Olentangy Liberty was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 3-0 victory over the Irish.

Alexis Richie started the game for Scioto and recorded 12 outs!

The Patriots opened the scoring in the first after a wild pitch scored one run.

Emily Chevalier earned the win for Liberty. The righty surrendered zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out nine and walking none. Mindy Schoen came on in the fourth to earn the save.

Richie took the loss for Dublin. The pitcher went four innings, giving up one run on three hits, striking out an impressive nine and walking none!

Richie also went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Dublin Scioto in hits.

Izzy Matteo, Hailey Massie, Caroline Lutwen, and Aubrey Del Cecato each collected one hit for the Patriots. Matteo and Del Cecato each stole multiple bases for Liberty. They stole seven bases in the game. The Patriots were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Avery Garrett had the most chances in the field with 14.

The Irish varsity look to shake off the dust in another scrimmage on Thursday at Centennial! So, bring your enthusiasm and we’ll see you at the game!
