Reynolds Tosses No-Hitter, Irish Blank Wildcats 10-0

April 2, 20250

Dublin Scioto High School, April 1, 2025:  Avery Reynolds was untouchable in the circle Tuesday evening, firing a no-hitter and racking up 15 strikeouts to lead the Irish to a dominant 10-0 run-rule victory over Westerville South.

The right-hander was in command from the jump, allowing no hits and no runs over five complete innings while issuing just three walks. Reynolds capped her performance with an immaculate second inning—striking out the side on just nine pitches.

The Irish offense backed their ace early, plating six runs in the bottom of the first. Alexis Richie opened the scoring with an RBI single, followed by a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch that brought in Maria Wasko. Gigi Rodriguez delivered the big blow of the inning with a three-run single to break things wide open.

Scioto struck again in the third, tacking on five more runs on three hits. Katy Joseph laced a two-run single, Gina Wasko added an RBI base knock, and Richie kept the pressure on with a two-run triple to deep right-center.

Westerville South’s Bailey Cavener took the loss, lasting just one inning and surrendering five earned runs on three hits with two walks.

At the plate, Richie and Reynolds were a dynamic duo, each collecting a pair of hits while hitting back-to-back in the lineup. Richie led the charge with three RBIs and a 2-for-3 performance. The Irish showed patience at the dish, drawing six free passes on the day.

With the win, Scioto will hit the road Thursday to face Worthington Kilbourne. We’ll see you out there—if the weather allows!

Go Irish!
