Even though Scioto collected 11 hits to Canal Winchester’s 7, they still fell 9-6 on Wednesday evening.
In the 1st inning, the Irish got their offense started. They scored one run when Caroline Piatt singled.
In the bottom of the first inning, Canal Winchester tied things up at 2 when an error scored one run for the Indians.
They pulled away for good with 6 runs in the third inning. In the third Emma Kamerer doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs; Emerson Weston doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run; and Abigail McIntosh doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring three runs.
Rhozwyn Costo was credited with the victory for Canal Winchester. Costo lasted seven innings, allowing 11 hits and 6 runs while striking out two and walking one.
Alexis Richie took the loss for Scioto. The hurler allowed 5 hits and 8 runs over two innings.
The Irish tallied 11 hits. Piatt, Michelle Hernandez, and Isabella Jauregui all managed multiple hits for Dublin Scioto. Jauregui, Hernandez, and Piatt each managed two hits to lead the team.
McIntosh went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Canal Winchester Indians in hits.
