Dublin Scioto Irish Grab Lead in Sixth Inning to Defeat Central Crossing

The Irish defeated the Central Crossing Comets 7-4 on Tuesday evening after taking the lead late in the game.  Tied at 4 with Scioto batting in the bottom of the sixth, Faith Kinzer doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

Dublin got on the board in the first inning when Taylor Henry singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

Henry took the win for Dublin Scioto. The pitcher allowed nine hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out six.

Roberts was in the pitcher’s circle for the Comets. She surrendered seven runs on six hits over six innings, striking out 11.

Henry led the Irish with two hits in three at bats.

Central Crossing saw the ball well on a chilly and windy late afternoon, racking up nine hits in the game.  Unrue and Solberg all collected multiple hits for Central Crossing.  Unrue went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Comets in hits.

Junior Varsity – the JV team nearly squeaked out a win, falling to the Comets after being down 6 runs in the 2nd inning. Sophia Jackson pitched all 7 innings, giving up 8 hits and 9 runs with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. Jackson and Abbi Clark each had 2 hits in the game.

The Irish take on Pickerington North on their home turf on Wednesday evening at 5:30PM. And they follow that up with another game on Friday, at Upper Arlington, and then Saturday with a double-header at home. Busy week for Dublin Scioto!
