There were runs aplenty on Friday, as Scioto defeated the Upper Arlington Golden Bears 10-7.
Dublin got things moving in the first inning, when Sandra Phrakornkham singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Taylor Henry was the winning pitcher for the Irish. The bulldog allowed eight hits and seven runs over seven innings, striking out seven.
Catie Sims was on the rubber for the Golden Bears. The lefthander lasted four innings, allowing 11 hits and seven runs while striking out two and walking one. Ayva Lasley threw three innings in relief.
Scioto tallied one home run on the day. Bella Jauregui went deep in the fourth inning.
The Irish totaled 13 hits in the game. Henry, Jauregui, Hunter Fadorsen, Lexie Richie, and Michelle Hernandez all collected multiple hits for Scioto. Henry went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the team in hits.
The Golden Bears tallied eight hits. Audrey Szollosi and Paige Parker all had multiple hits for Upper Arlington.
JV Update – their game was canceled due to weather.
Both teams had their Saturday triad canceled due to weather, as well. But, that’s Ohio for you. Lots of rain in March!
