April 21, 2023

Waylen Jackson, Sophia’s dad, was kept busy recording scores on Gamechanger during a high-scoring contest between the Irish and Worthington Kilbourne, where the JV team prevailed 17-7.

Worthington fired up the offense in the first inning.  An error scored one run for the Wolves.

After Worthington scored two runs in the top of the fourth, Dublin answered with two of their own.  Kilbourne JV scored when Claudia singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.  Scioto then answered when Rae threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for the Irish and another pitch allowed in one more.

Scioto pulled away for good with seven runs in the second inning.  In that inning, Callie Akina drew a walk, scoring one run, Mariam Sowe singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, Madalyn Dean singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run, and Abbi Clark singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two more.

Sophia Jackson earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for Dublin. The fireballer lasted five innings, allowing five hits and seven runs while striking out three and walking zero!

Elise was in the pitcher’s circle for Worthington. The hurler allowed four hits and nine runs over three innings, striking out seven.  Rae threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Jackson led Dublin with two hits in four at bats.  Scioto stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. The speedy Clark led the way with three!
