The Irish Defeated By the Olentangy Liberty Patriots

April 24, 2023

April 22, 2023 – Olentangy Liberty High School: Emily Chevalier earned the victory on the rubber for Olentangy Liberty. Chevalier went seven innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out 15.

Taylor Henry was in the circle for Scioto. The hurler surrendered five runs on five hits over six innings, striking out five.

Sandra Phrakornkham, Kaitlyn Zimmerman, and Faith Kinzer each managed one hit to lead the Irish.

Brooke Aberle went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Liberty in hits.  The Patriots were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Haley Colger had the most chances in the field with 11.

JV Update: The Irish Junior Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 15-2 loss to Olentangy on Saturday. Scioto struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively.  Their pitcher allowed three hits and two runs over five innings, striking out nine. Sophia Jackson was in the pitcher’s circle for Dublin. The bulldog lasted four innings, allowing 12 hits and 15 runs while striking out two.  Mariam Sowe, Callie Akina, and Jackson each collected one hit to lead Dublin.

Expect both teams to rebound on Monday when they face Canal Winchester at home!  After an impressive Home Run Derby on Sunday, those bats should come alive on Monday afternoon. We’ll see you out on the fields at 5:15!

Go Irish!
