Reynolds Throws No-Hitter as Scioto Dominates Kilbourne in Rivalry Clash

April 21, 20260

Worthington Kilbourne High School, April 21, 2026: A chill returned to the air Monday night, but with the sun still shining and a strong turnout making the short trip, the final Battle of Hard Road had all the energy you’d expect from a rivalry matchup. Scioto fans lined the stands at Kilbourne, ready for one more showdown between the neighbors.

From the first inning, the Irish made sure it wouldn’t stay close for long.

Avery Reynolds set the tone immediately, ripping a double down the left field line to bring in the game’s first run. Maria Wasko followed with another double, and Yonit Rodriguez added an RBI single as Scioto jumped out in front and never looked back.

And while the offense was clicking, Reynolds was untouchable in the circle.

Pitch after pitch, she overpowered Kilbourne’s lineup, mixing command with precision and keeping hitters completely off balance. The Wolves never found an answer—not a hit, not a rally, not even a hint of momentum—as Reynolds carved through the lineup with 10 strikeouts and no walks and in total control.

Scioto kept adding on.

Rodriguez delivered another RBI in the third to extend the lead, and by the fifth, the Irish blew the game wide open. A relentless string of hits—highlighted by another two-run double from Reynolds—turned into an eight-run inning, with contributions coming from across the lineup. Abbi Clark, Emma Gamez, and Katy Joseph all drove in runs as the Irish piled on and put the game out of reach.

By the final innings, the only question left was whether Kilbourne could break through.

They couldn’t.

Reynolds finished off a no-hit performance, and Scioto’s defense backed her with clean, steady play with only two errors behind an explosive 15-hit night at the plate.

In a rivalry game that drew a crowd and carried plenty of buildup, Scioto delivered a dominant performance from start to finish, rolling to a 14–0 victory over Kilbourne.

Next up: The Irish hit the road Wednesday to take on Westland, looking to carry this momentum into another midweek matchup. We’ll see you all out there to cheer them on!

Go Irish!
