Dublin Scioto stayed in the game until the end, but Delaware Hayes pulled away late in a 5-2 victory on Monday. The game was tied at 2 with Hayes batting in the bottom of the fifth when Nelson doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
The Irish opened up scoring in the first inning, when Madi Comstock hit a solo homer.
Stefanski got the start for the Pacers. The fireballer surrendered two runs on four hits over five innings, striking out nine and walking zero.
Taylor Henry toed the rubber for Dublin . The pitcher lasted six innings, allowing eight hits and five runs while striking out four and walking zero.
The Irish socked two home runs on the day. Caroline Piatt went for the long ball in the first inning. Comstock also went deep in back-to-back homers in that first.
Piatt led Dublin Scioto with two hits in three at bats.
Cloud went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Delaware Hayes in hits.
